PARKWAY, Sacramento County — Sacramento County continues its Florin Road Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement Project, a three-mile program from Franklin Boulevard to Power Inn Road crossing the south Sacramento corridor used by Parkway residents.
The county lists construction from 2024 through 2026, with a contract award in September 2024 and an estimated construction cost of $12.7 million. The scope includes Class II bike lanes, traffic signal improvements for people walking and cycling, accessible sidewalk ramps, improved bus stops between Franklin Boulevard and Chandler Drive, street lighting farther east and repaving of deteriorated roadway surfaces.
The multiyear construction window does not mean crews are actively working along the entire three miles on every day. Work schedules can change, and earlier county newsletters give projected dates rather than live closures. Improvements may require temporary traffic controls at certain intersections.
What Parkway residents should know
Residents, businesses and commuters should check updated county construction notices before traveling and follow on-site signs. Pedestrians and wheelchair users should use marked temporary routes where sidewalks are closed.
